INTRODUCTION
If demonology as an exact study can be said to have an origin date, it would probably be between the years of 970 and 930 BC, when Solomon, a King of Israel, was said to have been a noted exorcist of demons. Thanks to his
studies and the use of ancient symbols, he supposedly bound 72 named demons and forced them into servitude. These demons, as the tales state, helped King Solomon to erect the first temple in Jerusalem. These demons also imparted knowledge upon King Solomon, including the arts of magic and prophecy. The names of the 72 demons were chronicled, and they, along with the symbols and artifacts of Solomon, will be covered later in this course.
